There were two main races this month. These were Llanelli and Malory , which were both National series races , with Mallory also being the Junior World Qualifier.

I finally had a solid month of training with no illness for the lead up to Llanelli , which put me in a good place both physically and mentally on the start line. Unlike last year, i also had no bike issues in the lead up to the race which was a relief. The swim was quite poor putting me in a bad position going into transition, this was mainly due to me lacking fitness and tactics in the swim  going round the bouys. I managed to make up some time in transition, however it wasn’t enough and missed the pack which merged with the front by two seconds. This therefore put me in a 2nd pack which didn’t work as well, therefore was frustrating seeing the front pack gaining time from us. Luckily my run went well and managed to pick up some positions , placing me 4th Junior and the end of the day and 20 th ish Senior.

Mallory seemed to go quite differently. I managed to have a good swim putting me in the main front pack with a solo breakaway ahead. The run sadly didn’t go to plan, i just couldn’t get my legs moving on the first lap, leaving me too far behind. I finished 5th junior 2 position of World qualification ,however i’ve still got next year to qualify.

The next big race is the European qualifier at the end of June. I would’ve also finished A levels by then which will be a great relief.
